Hospitals in Simcoe Muskoka Region

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site healthcare organization created in 2005 through the amalgamation of South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and Algonquin Health Services. MAHC includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, and some outpatient services at the Almaguin Highlands Health Centre.

The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital is a 32-bed community hospital with a 24-hour Emergency Department. It is located on Frank Miller Drive in the Town of Huntsville. Tel:  705-789-2311
The South Muskoka Memorial Hospital site is a 43-bed community hospital with a 24-hour Emergency Department and 24-bed Complex Continuing Care unit. It is located on Ann Street in the Town of Bracebridge. Tel:  705-645-4404

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is located at 459 Hume Street in Collingwood. Founded in 1887, today the General and Marine (G&M) Hospital serves the Georgian Triangle, which encompasses Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township and The Town of the Blue Mountains. The G&M Hospital is a 72-bed facility serving more than 60,000 permanent residents and 2.5 Million annual visitors.

Georgian Bay General Hospital is the result of the voluntary integration of Huronia District Hospital and Penetanguishene General Hospital in 2008. The Midland site dates back to 1905. The Penetanguishene site was first established in 1911, followed by a School of Nursing that was in operation from 1912 to 1929. This site is still in operation today, with 15 beds classified for regional rehabilitation. 

Both of Georgian Bay General Hospital’s sites are easily accessible from Highway 93, the main highway and county road that brings visitors into Midland and Penetanguishene after travelling north on Highway 400 from Barrie. Highway 93 can also be reached by travelers heading south on the 400 from Parry Sound by taking the Highway 12 west exit to Midland.
The Midland Site - the acute care site with 24-hour emergency department - is located on Highway 93 just north of the Hugel Avenue intersection. The Penetanguishene Site - the complex continuing care, dialysis and rehabilitation site - is located at 25 Jeffery Street in Penetanguishene.

Royal Victoria Hospital is a  299-bed acute care community hospital based in Barrie, Ontario, a rapidly-growing city of over 125,000 residents, just an hour north of Toronto . The Royal Victoria Hospital is the only hospital in Barrie and provides specialized services to patients from a huge geographical region - including Simcoe County and the districts of Muskoka and Parry Sound.
