Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) offers a wide range of programs and public health services focused on promoting and protecting health, and preventing disease, disability and injury.  These programs and services are funded by municipal and provincial tax dollars.  The Board of Health governs the affairs of the health unit and oversees agency operations. 
Public health professionals are just a phone call away Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the Health Connection phone lines. Call 705-721-7520 or 1-877-721-7520 (toll free) to speak one-to-one with a public health nurse or inspector.  
Specific services are available in the following areas: health, classes, clinics, screening, parenting, tobacco cessation, inspection/enforcement, and water testing/monitoring.
