Individuals and families often need additional support in dealing with day-to-day living from the perspective of mental health.  A number of organizations offer services in Muskoka to individuals and families with mental health issues.

Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka

Family, Youth and Child Services of Muskoka offer many programs such as Child and Family Intervention Programs, Group Services, Intensive Service Program, Preparation for Independence Program, Telepsychiatry and Theraputic Care.


Addiction Outreach Muskoka Parry Sound

Addiction Outreach Muskoka Parry Sound is committed to providing assessment, counselling, group facilitation, case management and referral services to all persons who have been adversely impacted by substance use and gambling. We are also committed to the prevention of harmful substance use and gambling through public education and awareness initiatives. We strive for collaboration with community partners to provide ongoing support to both the Muskoka and Parry Sound Districts.


The Meeting Place:  Centre for Growth and Healing

The Meeting Place Centre for Growth and Healing is a registered non-profit charitable organization that has been in existence since 2002.  It was established as a vehicle to provide support and assistance in Muskoka, for people dealing with mental health challenges and illness. 
 
The Meeting Place believes:
  • In the inherent worth, dignity and uniqueness of every individual;
  • In the right of people to speak their truth and not be silenced;
  • That the healing of one person affects the entire world;
  • That each individual, given the opportunity, can choose to heal and to create a nourishing life that contributes to greater familial and community well-being.

District Municipality of Muskoka Community Services - Enhanced Employment Supports (EES) Program

The Enhanced Employment Supports (EES) Program assists those participants who are most at risk in our communities to achieve their maximum potential and enhance their quality of life by offering additional programming and supports with a holistic focus. The program provides upfront intensive supports through critical or crisis intervention for those participants with more severe challenges or experiencing stressful periods in their lives.  Supports include: enhanced supports, frequent updates and contact,  one on one support,  group activities, life skills programs, counseling, critical and crisis intervention and assisting participants to connect with other appropriate agencies in the community.

Muskoka Parry-Sound Community Mental Health Service

MPSCMH provides free mental health services to adults including crisis intervention, counseling, rehabilitation, recovery support, psychiatric treatment, partner assault, housing supports and a protective service program. The Agency will work with other community agencies, programs and individuals in the delivery of quality mental health service.
