Brain Injury Services
Brain Injury Services of Simcoe Muskoka aims to provide community based support to individuals and families living with the effects of an acquired brain injury. As well, Brain Injury Services provides community-based rehabilitation, community re-integration, education and adult day services to individuals living with acquired brain injury.
To be eligible for services, applicants are considered on an individual basis and must have a primary diagnosis of an acquired brain injury, be 16 years of age or older, have a valid Ontario Health Card and must be motivated to work toward their rehabilitation goals.
Brain injury Services of Simcoe Muskoka believes in respect for clients and families, respect for client dignity and privacy, involvement of family and friends, opportunities for client learning, the client’s right to choose, staff development and professional growth, caring and dedicated staff and volunteers, and the importance of community support and partners.
Of the program components that are offered, Brain Injury Services delivers one on one counseling and group activities. The main goes is to have supportive counseling, and to educate clients as well as support families. Independence training programs are presented so that those suffering can be reintegrated into the community.
