District Seniors Programs and Services

Seniors Programs and Services are specifically designed to improve health and well-being, socialization, inclusion, volunteering, community engagement and support.

Seniors outreach is designed to provide information on services, programs and initiatives in Muskoka for seniors, families and caregivers.

Seniors Programs and Services offered include:
  • Outreach provides education related to community services, health care services, wellness, home maintenance and safety programs, and a variety of other interrelated topics. Many outreach education sessions are provided in collaboration with the District’s W.I.S.E. Clubhouses.
  • Intergenerational programming focuses on mentoring (the young and young at heart) during creative arts, cooking programs and letter writing. Join us for endless fun!
  • Service coordination with agencies and organizations that support seniors in Muskoka. Strengthen collaborative relationships, and optimize programs and services.
  • Low impact exercises blended together in a gentle and fun routine designed to improve strength, balance and energy. Programs also provide fun and socialization opportunities for seniors.
  • Advanced Care Planning assists seniors in preparing for the aging process, and the decisions that coincide with aging. Education surrounding establishing a care plan, selecting a Power of Attorney, creating a will, downsizing or moving into retirement living, how to speak with your family about your wishes and end of life care.
  • Volunteer opportunities are available in your community. Contact us for a variety of options to ‘give-back’.
