Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP)

Arthritis Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP)

The Arthritis Society offers client based programs and services for those living with arthritis.  An occupational therapist provides services and recommendations to help people of all ages living with arthritis throughout Muskoka, Perry Sound and Simcoe County.

The AREP program will teach people with Arthritis about:

1.  how to manage pain
2.  updates on medication
3.  exercise to reduce stiffness, increase strength and improve fitness
4.  how to protect joints and use helpful devices
5.  ways to cope with the emotional impact of arthritis
6.  how their family can help them
7.  ways to adapt to their home or workplace
8.  how other services in their community can help

Clients can be seen in Clinic locations, at work, school, home or at an Arthritis Office.  These services are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and there is no charge to participants.  If you have arthritis and would like to be assessed by our therapist, please call the Arthritis Society office at 1-800-321-1433 to book an appointment at your nearest location.
